Well, I guess I take a different tack... I don't buy with the intention of trading it in for resale value. By the time I'm done with the vehicle, it'* resale value is measured by it'* scrap steel content I'm harder on them than fleet service vehicles.

Last new car I bought was the '94 Camaro (purchased in October 1993). It'* now past 177k miles on it and is going to get pushed well past 250k before it'* done (Maybe). The '97 Astro was purchased in 1999 with 20k on it already, it'* well over 100K too. The '87 Camaro has in excess of 200K on it'* frame (lost track of the total miles two speedometers ago.) It is damn near indestructable with subframe connectors and has served as the motor test mule for years.
