My parents have a Konica. 4 megapixel, does video clips with sound. GORGEOUS PIX, i've never seen pix so nice from a digital camera. Gets great battery life/has rechargeables (one requirement), and you can shut the screen off easily, and use a viewfinder.

Well, to answer your question...
Why yes, I have a Samsung. Digimax 200. For being a cheap 2.1 MegaPixel, it ain't bad. All the pics I have posted have been taken with it. Sucks batteries like a fiend, but I have a cheap source for those...

Yes, I work for hp, and yes, I say sony. Allmachtige will say so, too.
Sony has the best quality ccd, the best optics for the price, and the most features. You can't beat 'em.
Buy middle of the line, Sears will match any online price you find. The Sony'* usually will allow you to screw on aftermarket filters/lenses, and you want an OPTICAL zoom. Not just digital. My DSC-S50 (no longer sold) has a 3x optical zoom and 2x digital. Total of 6x. I don't use the digital, and nobody should. Lower pic quality.
It'* all about CCD and optics. Nothing else really matters. Sony has the best combo of both. Period. I shopped for 2 years. The guy who filmed my 110mph pass in the dark? Bought the same camera I did. We both work with lasers and optics. We're 'in the know'.

i have a Sony dsc-p92. its 5.0 megapixels and takes perfect pics. its got the two double a'* but i cant complain cuz they last pretty good. it was over 400dollah though. hps are great. i think you can get a 3.2 mp for under $300. check circuit city or best buy and make sure you get a protection plan cuz it'll save your *** if there is even a minor problem. just my two cent
