Which Cell Phone should I get?
#11
I have ALWAYS gone Nokia, till my newest phone, the RAZR. First day I had it, I had it hooked up to my laptop and got some free software online and turned the volumes up on everything, ringer, earpiece, speaker phone, etc... I like the phone. My battery life isn't as great as my last Nokia was, BUT I also use my phone as an alarm in the morning.
The whole reason I bought the new phone was that a new battery for my Nokia was 50$ and I was able to get the RAZR for 50$ though my provider, so I opted for a new toy, lol.

well i have a Sanyo MM-7400 from sprint and it is always good, service is not the best in my area, but rules in large cities...
but for phones, i would reccommend ANYTHING by LG, just because their phones absolutely RULE! But as for the Razr, yeah very good phone, my brother has one an dloves it, the only thing I don't like about it is that like most of the surface of the phone is polished gloss so you see fingerprints all the time....especially the silver keypad, it is like plexi-glass so it shows EVERYTHING, so yeah otherwise, the phone is VERY durable and such so yeah, i definitely recommend that.

I've had nothing but bad luck with motorola AND with cingular. Personally i've never had cingular, but my boss has it and they screwed them royally. Terrible reception, horrible customer support, and overpriced and over-extended contracts. I started my cell service with t-mobile, and i will never leave. Now onto the phones. I will never ever own another of their products. I first bought the V300 when i signed up, and had nothing but problems with it in the 8 months i owned it. Had to return it twice to t-mobile for replacement (which they were happy to do even without a warrenty). After which i purchased a T720 (brand new) as a replacement for a month or so till i could afford something nicer. Quit in a week. My buddy had a V180 for a few months, stopped charging and wouldn't make calls, and the menu'* didn't work correctly. He'* now got a razr which has been mostly trouble-free. Another customer at my work, she had a V600 which did the same thing, stopped charging. I now have an NEC 535m, and am in LOVE with it. Little bulky, which i like (i hate flimsy phones), better screen than even the razr, 1.3 MP camera, video, 32mb or internal storage <--- which there are almost no other phones that will touch. Sorry for the rant anyways. Good luck on the purchase.

I owned (and still do) the V551 (V557 is current) and the RAZR is tougher. The RAZR also uses a standard USB cable or bluetooth to send pics to your 'puter if you choose. It will also charge from USB as long as you have 30% or more remaining.

You really need to research this locally. A lot is going to based on what service is like in your area. One company may be awesome here, but total crap in the next city over.
I'm going to second the idea you go to www.howardforums.com and do some research. Great cell phone forum.
PS - Get the Razr! I want one so bad! The seem like tough little phones.

If you are intrested in the getting Cingular I am selling my Black v3 for $50 bucks or if anyone else is in need of one just pm me. Thanks
I will throw in the cord for the pc and a disk with all the programs to make mp3'* and themes and all the tutorials you would ever need on this phone. For $25 more. The cord alone was that much from cingular.
