Default What'* The Right Scan Tool for 1995 Bonneville SE?

I had bought an ACTRON CP9125 Pocket Scan Code Reader from Autozone for my 1995 Pontiac Bonneville SE. I know the scan tool was for 1996 and newer cars, but the clerk recommended it to me and when I use it, it keeps saying NO LINK! I need to find out what is the best scan tool out there, preferably one that doesn't break the bank?

I had the same problem..went through three scanners before I found one that worked. I bought the Actron 9145. I got it on Amazon for about a hundred bucks.

Thanks. I'll check that out. I been having this very odd idling and sometimes my car would stall so I went and bought a scan tool to identify the problem. Looks like I bought the wrong scan tool.

The best scanner for the 94/95 hybrid PCM'* is the Actron CP9110. Get it from Ebay, and Slug (member here) will make the cable you need.

Why?

The CP9145 won't read enhanced data including KR. The 9110 will.

Moving to General Chat. This isn't a mechanical problem.
