Sell, or part out?
I really don't want to do anything but fix this car, and yet, at 20, my 97 Bonneville is too much for me to handle anymore. Every shop I talk to is ridiculous about helping me with my p0171, I don't have the time to mess with it, and if I did get it fixed, the car leaks so much...the back carpet is now black from it sitting for several months leaking. There'* no heat/air. The windshield leaks.
It'* all stuff that by itself, is easily fixed, and from reading here I even can do it.
BUT, between my job and being discouraged, it'* gotten to a point I feel I need to just let it go.
I hate giving up, and I expect to catch flak from some of you, but I just can't keep up with the massive amount of issues anymore.
The car is at 149xxx. P0171, P0306, backfires BADLY. The leaks. Some cosmetic damage(paint peeling, inside driver'* door handle lock cover broken)...FOBs aren't responsive...
Fuel pump has 10000 miles on it. MAF, MAP, Catalytic conv., spark plugs...all have less than 200 miles. I seriously threw so much at the car...
So what do you say? Should I try to sell it as a whole, or part it out? I'd say sell as whole, but didn't know if the parts were worth more?
Also, what'* a price that doesn't sound stupid? I was going to list on craigs list for 800 obo. On one hand, yeah, lots of problems, on the other hand, they're easyish fixes.
So what'* the verdict here? sell, part out, fair price?
I hate giving up..but I just can't right now, ya know?

i was gonna say id buy it to race but 800 is a bit steep for me and it doesnt sound too healthy. There is a place called I believe Car zone (i think its something "car") they will give you 2000 for ANYTHING you can bring in towards a trade.. id like to look into that for my honda and see if theyd give me just the 2000

kinda sounds like a bad injector, coil or wire, did you try swapping them to see if the problem moves? also when my intake manifold went all i was getting was a single cyl misfire code, (common problem)

If you part it out you can make good money. figure $400-$500 for a good running engine, another $300-$400 if the trans is good. Strip it out and you can get $250 just in scrap metal, it'* like $250 a ton if I remember right. Seats you may get $100 for the set if in good shape. Glass is hard to move. You have the HUD, the dash, etc. It can all add up, but it'* a bit of work. And you need a place to do it. Post on here your parting out and what do you need. Post on craigslist, you may moves a few things. But a bad running car, your going to get perhaps $500 At the most.

no point in scrapping just the body when you can leave everything original in the car and get more at junkyards selling the engine separate will double your money
