Default Resetting ECM

what'* the proper way to reset my ECM? I tried disconnecting the ECM fuse for 10 minutes and the fault codes keep coming back. I also tried disconnecting the battery for the same lenght of time and am getting the same results. Please help me as my car is acting sickly. :(
