Default Alternator Question

As some already know, the alternator is failing in the Park Avenue. It charges fine, but chatters, as if the bushings are going out. Intermittent, especially at idle, but so bad that the engine stumbles when it happens. Is there a way I can squirt some WD40 in there to make it last until payday <just under 2 weeks> so it doesn't snap the belt on me and leave me dead in the water? I ask this here because this is general knowledge for most alternators, not specifically mine.
