If that whine is your water pump, it could have failed prematurely, caused poor coolant circulation, and CAUSED the upper intake failure.

Um... you have not driven too far on that oil... It should still be honey or maple colored... If its any darker than you are most likely burning coolant in the combustion process, and the oil is being contaminated through Blowby... The unburned coolant/ fuel mix is getting into the oil slowly, this is a very bad issue as far as the bearings in the bottom end of the engine go... You need to have this issue resolved in the very near future... Also check and see if the oil seems more watery than usuall....Check it cold, if it seems really thin than the oil is contaminated.... A milky color will not always be present... Let me know what you find Boat...
i'd say i have 1500-2000 miles on this oil, and it was a light brown, so i guess you could call it maple. i think... oh yeah, my mom says the exhaust stinks
Boat, you might need to remove the belt and check the Water Pump for play, if there is play and you can wiggle the pump up and down a bit than the bearings are failing... Can you mom describe the smell of the exahust? Sweet smelling like coolant and fuel, or skunk like( rotten eggs )

That'* running rich, or a finicky catalytic converter. Might be the O2 sensor, but almost all of our cars do that from time to time.

hmm... oh, since i've had the car, sometimes when i rev it up, when i take my foot off the gas there is a rattling sound sounds like it'* comming from the exhaust. what do you think that might be?

Wondered how long that would take.
That rattle would typically be loose guts in your Catalytic Converter. Either that, or the exhaust is rattling on a heat shield somewhere.

You should be able to diagnose this one on the ground, preferably with a COLD car!

When mine did that, I just reached under with a foot and whanged it. It'* better up on ramps or blocks, though. Gives you more room. Mine sounded like a baby rattle.
