Default Supercharger Install Steps

Supercharger is ready to be put back together and installed again! Just a few ?'* before I begin.

What type of grease should I use to pack the 2 needle bearings in the case?

What steps and torque (lbs.) to mount the */C to the lower intake manifold?

Ummmm....where did you get the needle bearings? Didn't they come pre-packed? I hopee so, because the grease is $50 an ounce or so.

Torque specs are in my sig pic. On my Bonneville page, click on "Click Here" to go to my thumbnail page. a few pages in you'll see some scanned pages that I got from Magnusson a couple years ago. They have the torque specs for the 'charger. Techinfo has the specs for mounting it to the LIM.

I checked in techinfo before and couldn't find them. . . . . . . . . Checked again and found 'em (note to self: double check)

As some of you guys know 2 days after IDD my fuel pump took a dump and I saw this down time as a great time to take off the */C and clean it.

As for the needle bearings they are stock and still good. The bearings still have grease in 'em but I wanted to pack them right if I was going to put the */C back together.

So I guess the ? is where do I get some from? I know Intense sells it and I know if I call up ZZP they will get me some. But I was really hoping to get it locally so I could get the car back together. Does GM even have */C grease? If so PN?

edit: too late and too many beers to type

GM does NOT sell the grease, as they don't service SC'*, except to replace either the whole thing, or just the nose drive.

It'* actually some super-special magic amazing grease developed by Eaton for this application. I can't remember the names, but there'* two types that can be used in this application. Both are VERY expensive.
