'92 Park Ave to LeSabre Instrument Cluster Swap
Is it possible to swap the instrument cluster from a '92 Park Ave into a '92 LeSabre?
(The Park Ave cluster has gauges & a tach vs the LeSabre'* idiot lights).
Their physical dimensions seem identical and they appear to bolt in exactly the same
(I have the Park Ave cluster, but I haven't removed my LeSabre'* cluster to view the plug yet).
It'd be great if it were a "pop one out, pop the other one in" type of swap, but I bet it'* not..
What else would I need besides just the cluster itself to do the swap?
Has anyone ever done this..?
Thanks in advance..

A few things. Both cars swing both ways.
Exhibit A, My Park Avenue:
The clusters are physically interchangeable, and some wiring is required, but it is not too horrific. I will try and find the writeup, somebody has successfully pulled it of, I just don't immediately remember where and when.

They are interchangeable, but not plug and play, it will plug right in and fit, but your going to need factory wiring diagrams for both, as I am pretty sure a few pin-outs have to be changed (which you need to carefully do as sometimes pins can slip out if you bend them while swapping them, which could lead to a wire coming out once you are done, which would have you removing it to fix), I also think you have to run a wire for the tach, and the coolant sensor, which you'll be needing to get different oil pressure, and coolant temperature sensors, since those gauges are most likely going to have resistance values a bit off from one another, so the gauges would be off if those are not changed.
I tried to find a wirte-up, but only found a similar video where a guy could not get his to work because he was not willing to rewire a few things, so it was not really helpful.
Hopefully rjolly can find those wiring diagrams, or a write-up for you.

Cool.. Big Red has the same cluster as my LeSabre..
And there'* a basically intact, gauge-cluster-equipped '92 Park Ave handy here for any other parts I might need..
I really should get an FSM for my car, ebay might be a good source..
About 25 years ago, I swapped the Rallye Dash gauge cluster from a '71 Charger Super Bee into my base-model (no options except 400 C.I. 4-bbl V8, SureGrip rear axle, front disc brakes) idiot-light equipped '72 Charger.. Did it in an afternoon, using only the very simple wire diagrams from a Chilton'* and matching up the wire colors. The only other part I had to change was the oil sending unit (which I figured on and had grabbed while at the boneyard).. Gave me great satisfaction getting everything to work. But cars were far simpler back then, and far easier to work on..
It'll be great if I can pull off this dash swap in this "late model" Buick..
