07 Allure (LaCrosse) will not crank.
Hey guys, been having trouble with my 07 Allure (Lacrosse). Well, this is the second time it'* happened in a week. No crank, but the fuel pump primes as normal, all power is working fine inside. Everything seems normal until I turn the key to "start" and it just does nothing. The relay and solenoid sound like they're working fine. Last week when it happened, I disconnected the battery, cleaned up the terminals, and put it back together. Still wouldn't start. Tried boosting it and nothing. Went to work, and when I came home, it still wouldn't start with the key, even after switching the starter relay out. Closed the hood, and for the hell of it, tried the remote starter, and it fired right up and worked perfect until this morning. The car has been sitting since Friday night and its been below freezing since. Battery is a little over a year old. Could it be the battery? Security maybe? Only code is for the gas cap.

Hi Travis! Charge the battery overnight and see if it fires up. or..
Since it is cold out, if you can leave the hood popped, not open, then in the AM lift hood and see the voltage, what is the reading?
When it is cold,-18c you only have 40% available even of a new battery, so CCA really matters, also without a block heater, it takes 210 % to start it...
Go get the battery load tested!
Check connections to be clean & tight at starter as well...

Put a voltmeter across the battery, and read during cranking(even if car does not turn over).......should be over 10.0 volts.....
You say solenoid and relay are ok? Which solenoid and relay?
Is this PK3? Does the SECURITY light go out after 3 seconds, when the key is turned to on(don't crank).......

So, I believe I found the problem. I attempted to start it earlier, no go. Tried to put it in neutral, and couldn't push the button in, so I shut off the lights, radio, and heater, and it barely turned over and started. I'm going to bring the battery to work tomorrow and put it on charge for the day, and have it load tested. See what'* going on with it. Definitely clean up the terminals and cables while its out.

Good Luck! I hope the day charge makes it well again & passes load test.
Next time get a AGM (absorb glass mat) battery Travis...They work well in the cold and have great reserve CCA!

Load test determined battery needed to be replaced. The battery was under warranty so it was replaced at no charge...but, it'* still having issues starting. I've noticed that if I turn the key to RUN, the doors will lock, and it won't start. But, if I leave the key at run for a few seconds, or cycle the key between off and run a couple times, the doors will unlock and, the car will start. Apparently just sitting idling, it can lock the shifter out and lock the doors.
Security light is not on, and everything else appears normal. Is it possible there is something going on with the security system? It is PK3 as well.
