Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Back in the day (before a bunch of you were born, lol) I did High end Audio. I had a 66 Malibu that had a 250watt system that won quite a few contests.

First I used a single 12" with a dedicated mono amp. For door speakers I used Kef Tweeters and ADS mids from a 320I set with each with its own channel of a amp..

Only 5 speakers and 3 amps and a Harmon Kardon head unit ( we had no idea what a CD was back then, lol)

My staging was VERY good and the base hit hard enough to give others a headache.

Best advise is listen to the speakers you want first (everyone has different tastes) and dont be fooled by big #*, just get good stuff.

Dont forget good wiring is almost as important as components.

(remember your cars alternator has to be able to run the car AND stereo)

Default Rockford Fosgate - all the way

This is the brand and company that I trust and been using for 15 years in my vehicles.

You want the best, look into the POWER Series they offer. T1 and T2 Series are there Cream of their crop.

I personally have the 2 12'* in their PUNCH series and they bump hard!!! I also use there PUNCH line of Amps. I have 2 - 301M'* Lots of power and work very well.

The POWER Series T2 handle 1000 watts RMS and peak to 2000.

Some of the best quality out there and they are manufactured/asembled here in the USA.

So, check them out!!

Numbers don't mean anything on their own. 1000w sub isn't inherently better than a 500w sub.

Best advice, pick tons of stuff that compliments eachother, build your system up of quality parts, and do things yourself that BBY can't do like a great custom box, etc.

I went from 2 used JL 10" in a sealed box, to a Diamond Audio 12" in a sealed box I built myself, and the difference was night and day. My speakers weren't as clear as my subwoofer.
