So I'm a *CHEATER*
Well, just got a little gift from Melissa today (Yes, I love this girl in more than one way)
We stopped at a pawn shop to see what they had for a small radio for her apartment. I had to walk through the car audio area and see what they had. Saw an Orion 225 HCCA Digital Reference amp and immediately started drooling. Not the latest and greatest amp, but definitely better than my little JVC. Saw the price and asked the salesperson if they'd deal at all. Turns out they'd had the amp for 4 months and no takers, so I jewed (no pun intended) them down to almost half price. So we hooked it up to their testing station and it worked excellent.
Then Melissa decided she needed to buy me a little gift. AWESOME. Afterall, I did just buy her a $100 Panasonic shelf system and a JBL 100 watt powered home sub to go with it for an extra $75.
We went back to her place, I set up her new system (sounds awesome BTW), and then went out and hooked the Orion up. DAMNIT!!! That thing pounds for a little guy.
Anyhow, came home here and just looked up specs. It'* a freakin cheater amp!!! Hell yeah!!!!
Basically, tested with 12v @ 4 ohms it'* 2x25, but when bridged @ 1 ohms with 14v it jumps up to 400x1!!!
How sweet is that? I have it bridged to 2 ohms now so I'm getting 200x1 w/14v powering my Infinity 12.3SE and it is immense improvement over that little JVC which is now sending it'* power to the Infinity 6953i 6x9'* in the rear dash (they needed that extra bit of power).
Anyhow no pics of mine -yet, but here'* a pic of one on ebay.
