What type of exhaust should I get?
I was rear ended the other day in my 02 SE :( . The exhaust will have to be replaced, my guess is from the converter on back. I would like to have something put on that will give me some additional performance. I do not want to do anything that will void the warranty. The shop said that I could pay the difference, if any, from stock equipment to some thing different. Any suggestions for a new muffler and pipes?

Well.. if it'* for pure sound.. flowMaster ( even thought there will also be some performance gains too ), or Dynomax, or Magnaflo.. if you're pocket is deep enough.. Borla. since it'* from the cat back.. you can ask for mandrel bent pipes ( they dont' have kinks in corners to restrict air flow ).. leave the cat stock for now till you start moddin the engine ( loose too much back pressure and you lose torque ). When you done moddin the intake and engine and stuff.. then look into replacing to high flo cat...
I would leave the resonator in ( but since it may need to be replaced ) go with a cherry bomb there instead.. it'll allow more rumble and sound out of the exhaust without having cabin drone or it being too loud.
P.*. Any muffler basically designed to work on Camaro'* with 3.8 will work for the Bonnie..

Hey, thanks for the advice. Did mention that I am married? That is why an SE instead of an SSEi. I need a bench seat (4 kids) This translates into "someone else has to authorize all purchases".
Is the resonator the about 2 ft long, round, narrow muffler looking item just behind the catalytic converter? I was planning on eliminating that piece. Is that o.k.?
I am going for some increased performance. Not too much extra noise. I am going to go to a Midas shop. They will bend me some pipes and use Raven (sp?) mufflers and some nice tips. I presently have a single exhaust system but am going to change over to a dual system. OEM on the single system is $930.00. Midas can do this for about $760.00. The woman who hit me insurance is paying for it. Kinda a blessing disquise.

Well in that case.. get the dual outlet ones than.. hee hee . Yes the resonator is behind the cat. If you're worried about cabin noise, the wife complaining, and the kids all staring when you come pick them up ( thinkin you're Mad Max ) then I would leave the resonator in.. The new muffler will make it louder.. but the resonator will keep it minimal inside the car and out.. but you will still notice the sound from the new muffler.. if they're replacin it.. make sure it'* Mandrel bent pipe then and worry bout the Cat later.. ask if they can put that in without having it written up on the work order since it'* not OEM.
