Sure sounds like a wheel bearing, like someone mentioned above, take it to the shop. It will take (at least it took me) a lot longer!!

It takes me maybe an hour or just a bit longer. The biggest problem is that now that the moved the bolts to the other side (toward the inside of the car) they're a little harder to get to, especially the top one. I also take my time.

Thanks for the help everyone. It turns out the drivers side wheel bearing/hub is bad, it had a considerable amount of movement. I still can't believe it went bad this early, but I guess crappy Michigan roads didn't help much either.

I still have a few more questions. Is the hub assembly Intense racing sells the same hub the dealers sell, or is it some generic stuff? The local Pontiac dealer wants $350 for it , and Napa wants $160. Also, is there a how-to or write up on this site on how to replace the hub bearing? I'm sure I can handle it, but reading from previous experience would definately get the job done quicker.

Whether or not the hub that Intense sells is the same part as the original, I don't know. They carry quality parts, so there would not be a problem getting it from them. If you need more information about Intense parts, send a PM to Rogue. He'll help you out.

This is a link that will take you to a how to on replacing the hub on a Grand Prix. Virtually the same.

To answer an earlier question, the tranny pan bolts are 10 fl. lbs.

Don't worry about getting an inferior part from Intense. Obviously, the GM part IS the inferior part. Seriously, I've never read anything bad about the ones they sell, and I wouldn't hesitate to put them on my car.
