Possible Transmission Problem?

hey guys ive been having a problem on the highway, when i increase my speed it feels like the gas pedal is going to the floor to quickly, and my RPM'* will stay in one spot for a while and then once i get off the highway it seems like it goes away i just changed my tranny fluid and filter i dont really know whats going on with my car....
any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, right on!On a serious note though, do you feel that with the power applied through the gas pedal that you're not getting the results you expect?
It sounds like when the tranny shifts into overdrive you lose power but once you step on it to go into passing gear its ok or when you slow down back into a smaller gear its ok?
What are your rpm'* staying at?
When I lost my tranny it was going up hill and both 3rd and 4th went away with no bang or clunk sounds. I Still had 2nd and 1st gears?

It'* hard to tell from your description exactly what you're experiencing. I don't know if this will fit or not, but I had an experience with my car. It would only happen at highway speeds (or that was the timing of it), maybe around 65-70. If I tried to accelerate, it would do nothing. RPMs, and speed stayed the same. If I stepped on it pretty good, or backed off, then did the usual acceleration, it worked fine. The cause was a bad O2 sensor.

Archon thats exactly what im experienceing only at highway speeds around 65-70. i havent replaced my o2 sensors either so i will replace them and see what happens....

Yeah, like Bill said. Just the front. Mine started when I replaced it for preventative maintenance. I knew not to buy the Bosch, and my supplier had the Borg/Warner. At that time, there was no information on them - good or bad. When it first started to happen, I even took it to a tranny shop to have it checked. Finally, the solution appeared when the check engine light popped on. I went through 2 (the original and a warranty replacement) within 6 months.
Moral of the story....get only an AC/Delco or Denso O2 sensor.
