Change crankshaft sensor or not...help!!
My car run too rich ( it is running like that for a while and now too long)
i changed the O2 sensor, it help a bit but now its still bad.
With a scan i discovered that i run too rich, as soon as i touch the throttle my spark drop under 10.
MAF was good, the O2 is good, fuel pressure is good.
I heard it can be the crankshaft positionning sensor so i decided to go to the dealer to order that sensor, but i ask to a mechanic what are the symptom of a bad crankshaft sensor.
With the symptom my car have, he tell me thats my intake...?!??
He told me that if it was the sensor, i should here a noise from it. And he saw a guy with a GTP running an intake and having that kind of problem and once he get it back to original air box the problem was gone..
but i runned the Fender well intake like 3month before it begin to do that, and begun like 3 week after the install of my hi-flow cat. :?
This thing begin to be really annoying, should i change the crankshaft sensor or not?
Practicaly everyone here use CAI, or FWI without any issue, telling me thats my sensor.
thank you for any help, info or advices.

Mike, I really don't think the problem that you describe is related to the crank sensor. Wait for the Gearheads to pipe in with more ideas on a starting point for troubleshooting.

Mike and Mark,
I think we need to go into the 00 FSM for this one and follow the troubleshooting charts.
Mark, I know you have one..Mike do you?

the fuel consumption is very high, i saw it at my last trip ,
i do this trip 2 time a year and it cost me like 100$ more the last time :( .
Its a 1500km trip.
And... now the idle begin to bump after a cold start (500-1800 for like 2 minutes)
or when i just started the car move it and the fan is on.(even if the engine is at operating temp)
i have to keep the throttle and it go away after couple of second.

ok, i got update, for the few that are looking at thios thread
Ive purchased my crankshaft sensor yesterday and tried to install it today.
But i encounter a problem.
The job itself is easy, but i cant remove the big pulley (dont know if its called harmonic balancer?)
anyway, i cant get my 3 jaw puller in because the frame of the car is blocking the access. And theres no space behind the pulley, the plastic protection of the sensor is just behind. The only way i found was to lower the engine.... but that become too hard for me since im not Michael Schumacher'* Mechanic...
Do someone have an idea how to remove it without moving the engine down?
I assume GM have a special puller. But i dont want to get my car there...$$
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
