Low track
My low track light has been coming on to indicate the front wheels were slipping . The problem is the street was dry as a bone.We are in the middle of a minor drought so everything is very dry.. But the light comes on then after a few seconds goes out . Anyone had this problem on a 2000 SSEi before?

It sounds like you have a bad wheel sensor or bad wheel sensor connection. Typical first thing to try is pull all the wheels and pressure wash around in there to clean them, also check each connector to the wheel speed sensors.

the sensor suggestion is the first thing I'll check. Seems like the easyest . Are the sensors easy to replace or is it a service department job?

You check the connections and harness yourself. If it is the sensor that has failed, Mike is right it is embedded into the wheel bearing and will need to be changed out.

Someone said it could be one of the senors in back of the front wheels. I can get them from my son from Advance auto parts. It is called a hub bearing .It has the connection for the wiring harness for the sensor on it .Cost is $110.00..

Definatly sounds like a wheel speed sensor and as stated, they only come with a hub/bearing assembly. Pressure washing, however; will do no good as the reluctor ring and sensor head are both behind a seal. And actually, pressure washing may penitrate the seal and get water into the bearing area. That would be bad.
Just keep in mind that you have four (4) on that car, it could be any one of them that is causing the problem. To pin point it, you need to have a scan tool that is capable of reading ABS data at a fast rate. This is obviously a "short time glitch" meaning it only malfunctions for a split second and then is back to normal. You need a scan tool that can read the data fast enough to catch a millisecond glitch.
You can try to ohm the speed sensors and compare the fronts to each other and the rears to each other, but it is not always an accurate test. And even if you find the fronts or rears are not in sync with each other, you still don't know which one is right and witch is wrong. There are no specs for this either.
