PM me your VIN, then send me a self addressed stamped envelope and I'll mail you back a hard copy of your build codes.

You could do that too, but they may hesitate to comply..........Example, "Hi, I'm here to obtain free advise, are you willing to give it to me?" "I realize that GM pays you to fix cars under warranty, but not to give away free advice. So do you think you can help me out?

Under the back seat and inside the trunk lid are the two most common locations I've seen. Lift up the carpet on the trunk lid at the bottom edge and look inside between the two halves of the lid (inside/outside halves). If not there, look under the rear seat bottom.

Oh, not sure what you want? Yes there should be an RPO sticker in the car. Either in the glove box, or in the trunk are common places as willwren said. Seen them on the bottom side of the spare tire cover too. This is not a build sheet though, it is just a sticker that has the RPO codes. It will not tell you what the codes mean.

Most build sheets get thrown away when the car is pre delivery inspected. People now a days generally don't care about build sheets so they simply get thrown away. Of course it is always worth asking your dealer to print one. We do it upon request for free and most dealers probably will do it free. It'* just when you go to a bigger dealer they may not want to help you, it seems like they need to "run it through the shop" to do anything for you.

I'm talking about the build sheet. Not the RPO label. Many here have found their buld sheets in the past, myself included. Saying that MOST get thrown away seems a bit extreme considering that many of us have ours.

I know I've got a 95 (DUH to me) but I've looked in the trunk lid, had the trunk completely stripped for cleaning, removed the lower rear seat and all the insulation under it and I haven't found a build sheet yet.
