1993 Bonneville Signal Problem
I have a 93 Bonneville SSE and I am having a problem with the turn signals. The right signal (and flashers) work fine. The left signal starts out fine and progressively slows to the point it no longer flashes. Bulbs look OK.
Sound like the signal flash unit? And where is that located on my car (Will I have to take apart the dash? Expensive part?

if it is the flasher, the unit is located down on the steering cloum, you will need to remove the hush panel to replace....the part is relatively cheap and can be found at your local parts store
someone will chime in and give you a diagnosis, as i have not had any experiecnce with a flasher problem

Just like Ol' Timer indicates, yours may NOT be the Flashing Unit, if the right works fine, but the left doesn't ,as they both use the same flashing unit. There was a recent thread where someone had a similar problem.
Have you checked your fuses yet? Just a simple check before looking at other stuff.

OK, I'm back...after checking on this a little. Here'* what I posted in Ol' Timer'* thread. I believe the same applies here.
As mentioned in the other thread about blinkers, the Flasher module operates both the left and right turn signals, so is likely not the culprit. Here'* another fairly recent thread that addresses the same (but right side) issue:
From this, I recommend:
- Check the bulbs in the left side for corrosion, bad contact, or bad filiment (going bad).
- Check the bulb sockets for corrosion
- Check the lamp wiring connections for looseness, partial breaks, intermittent shorts.
Those are my bets.
