Oil clogged pcv valve?
Hi guys,
I've been getting below average mileage on my 92 SSE and decided to check the pcv valve. Should there be oil on it and in the housing it sits in? I've done a full tune-up otherwise...plugs, wires, new o2 sensor, gas filter ( all ac delco...no bosch). I just can't get more than 230miles per tankful on local driving. When I first got the car it was getting 270-280 per tankful. I average around 14-15mpg around town. On the highway the car gets 24mpg. Why such a radical difference? I am not a heavy footed driver. Why would my mileage decrease after a tune-up? I should have left it alone.

Is this car Supercharged?
And is everything AC Delco right down to the plugs?
You should be doing a bit better than what you have posted if you have a 3800 Vin L engine....
I have done 320ish on a tank in both cars, and that by the time it hits the yellow hatched marks on the gage..

Yes, the PCV valve should be oily. But, if you are concerned, a new one is only about 5 bucks.
The biggy would be to make sure both O Rings are there, so that it'* sealing and doing it'* job properly...

theres supposed to be 2 o rings? i have a 92 oldsmobile eighty eight but it has the 3800 vin L engine and it only has one
