If the only thing affected is oil..I'd try the sensor first. I am kinda an expert on pulling the clusters apart and I'd go for the 10 dollar sensor first.

how long has it been since you changed your oil? did you put an acdelco filter on it?
my car acted funny the first time i changed the oil got a fram filter at wal-mart (only place open) and it was the culprit. manufacturer specific filters are the only way to go.

just another idea

Thanks for the heads up, I hadn't even considered the filter.
The oil guage started acting up about two weeks after the first oil change. I'll check to see what type of filter the Precision Tune put in.

wait.... have you checked your oil level recently? you may be running low on oil. do you notice any oil under the car in the drain plug/oil filter region? i know this happened on my tempo, they didnt put the drain plug back in right, now it leaks.

Oil level is ok. Being that I just got the car I have been checking weekly. Funny thing on my previous car, I took it in for an oil change and they refused becaue they said the last place cross threaded the oil plug. I simply took it to the last place who chanded if for free and never had an issue again.
