Default MAP sensor broke

I was pulling out of Rite Aid today when my check engine light came on. Pulled into the self-serve car wash, during which time my girlfriend said that the inside of the car turned into a sauna (the heat was on full). Temperature gauge was fine, though I thought my exhaust smelled rich.

Went down the street to Advance. P0108, MAP sensor high circuit. Popped the hood, and the sensor seemed very loose. When I undid the clips, it came out in two pieces (see thumbnail). How odd. After pulling up Dan'* writeup on the code on my iPhone, I decided to replace it immediately instead of hitting a junkyard Monday.

Did it break because of age, or should I be worried about something?

Probably just age. They only last so long.

While you are replacing the MAP sensor might want to clean or replace the PCV valve that is mounted directly under it.

Good idea. I'll handle that in the morning.
