ABS/Traction Control lights on
I've seen similar posts about this, but haven't really gotten enough info yet to figure out my problem.
The ABS and "TC off" light comes on usually when I say brake hard enough for the ABS to kick in, or if I press on the gas hard enough the wheels spin fast and the computer slows it down. Sometimes i guess the error doesnt come up, but 9/10 times these lights come on after being used. Plus my transmission isnt old, replaced it couple years ago. same thing happened with old transmission.
For more than a year I had this noise in my front end when turning, the left side would make a sound turning right so I diagnosed that with a wheel bearing issue.
For a couple days at the beginning of this summer, I would start my car and both these lights would come on, so I would apply the brake a few times, maybe shift into drive and park, then shut it off, start back up and the lights would come off and everything be normal.
One day when I leave my girlfriends place, shes got rocks for a driveway, and usually i always turn off my traction control but this time I didnt and when I stepped on the gas, the wheels spun fast and the TC activated and made that usual noise that comes from the front, same noise if it (the EBTCM) were doing the Anti-lock brake thing i guess.
After these lights wouldnt go back off no matter how many times I did my normal thing to try to turn them off, so I decided to replace my left wheel hub bearing. Did that, drives fine and noise when away except for the ABS/TC LIGHTS!!#$!#$
The connectors seem fine, although I will double check them and their cleanness again. I cant afford to get a tool scanner or have a diagnostic done yet.. I just do not want to have to get a new one of those $1000 parts like the EBTCM under the air box... any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. So if in the winter and my ABS isnt working and I slamm into your rear end driving, dont blame me... u shoulda helped me here now :P jk

It'* really hard to diagnose ABS/TRAC systems without the proper equipment. Right now, only thing I can offer for testing is to get a digital voltmeter set to A/C milivolts. Raise each wheel, disconnect the ABS sensor, connect the DVM to the sensor and spin the wheel. Do this for each wheel. If you see voltage, then the sensor is probably good.
