Question about paint
When I picked my car up from the paint shop they told me to wait a month before I waxed it. I have read some articles that say a after market paint job can take up to 3 months to cure properly. What are your opions about this, and is there any downside to waiting that long before I do my first wax job. I will be using Meguires Gold paste wax.

Waiting will not hurt a thing, just try to keep it clean whenever you can! The paint has to cure and set to the car. You don't want to rub off the clear and pos. the paint. When you do put a first wax on it make sure that you have everything as clean as pos. and not in direct Sunlight. Other than that it sounds like they told you everything.

OK, thanks. I will just wait the 3 months and do it then. That should put my first wax job at around the middle of July. I have been keeping it pretty clean by just doing a clear water wash with a micro fiber cloth. I know that does not get all the grim off, but I wanted to wait until at least the end of the month before I put any kind of detergent cleaner on it. I have a bottle of Dawn in the trunk. The guy at the shop says that would be fine, just for me to be sure and get anything like bird droppings or lovebugs, tree sap, and stuff like that off as soon as possible. That'* why I do a clear water wash usually when I get home from work. It stays pretty clean.

As of now, there is no wax on the car. I meant that I would continue to wash the car with just clear water, then use the dawn for a good cleaning before I do wax it in about another 2 months. I have no pics of the car but I plan to take some to post to the pics section and to put in my signature. But I want to wait until I have it looking just like I want it.
