My DIC dead but sometime a steady alarm rings when driving!
Hello folks!
The DIC on my SSE 1988 died in Sept 2004.
Ever since, while I am driving, I am suddently receiving sound alarm (steady continious beeping) for no obvious reasons.
I have no clue why this alarm is starting to beeps however when this happens
it is quite loud and annoying since I have to pull off and shut the engine
to stop this.
Once I restart the engine it is ok until the next time (sometime few days before it is coming back as a ghost!)
I taught I had some push doors open lights swithches were faulty and replaced all of them but I still have random alarms coming up.
Have you ever experienced something like that?
Any suggestion would be nice because it is quite irritating to suffer this
beeping noise while driving.
thanks in advance

I had that after swapping my trunk and tails. Check your tail light bulbs. sometimes it had the right resistance for them and sometimes not. But it would not ring for a while, then ring every 15-30 seconds while driving. license plate bulbs count for this too...
Just a place to start.

Will see if this was the cause soon.
I never suspected the DIC sending sound alarm signals
so it means alot in the sens that the DIC is might be only blind but not totallly dead.
Interesting observation.
I'll come back in few weeks with the resume of the day to day.
