Automatic Tranny Rebuild?
Ok here'* the deal. My tranny in my car has been making clanging chain noises for the last 6 months. I'm finally getting tired of it and was wondering what is involved in just changing the drive chain. The car shifts fine and has no other issues other than the fact that the tranny clangs. I know I have to remove the tranny, but what else do I need to do. Also where do I acquire this part at? I've thought about just getting another tranny, but i'm worried that it won't be any better than what I have. Besides i'm trying to do this on as cheap a budget as possible.

What would happen if I reuse my chip with a tranny with a different ratio than mine? I found a new tranny but I can't get the chip for the new tranny.

The only change would be to calibrate the speedometer/odometer. Is one byte in the chip. Besides the change from 2.84 to 2.97 is less than going from 15" to 16" wheels. Now a 3.33... (same trans found mostly behind 2.8s)
