What did you do to block it off at the opening. I have had this inherent worry about large object flyin into my "ducting" and causing damage.
Does high-tensile screen material work, I suppose its like using an MAF screen at the opening. I'd almost want the ducting to open downwards to keep particles out. Hmmm, how did you do it?
Mind you the bone stock air intake system for my gen Bonneville is pretty simple yet very effective, striaght shot air nozzle/cone dealy to the stock airbox, a few filter fins, the filter itself and a straight run of accordian style rubber tubing right to the TB, no turns, nothing...
Those newer airboxs are complex mothers....

I got large mesh ducttaped over the end of the air box. Its really big mesh not enough to stop air but enough to stop maybe a rock that got sucked in. All i have seen in my air box so far is maskitos. Its not a big deal, objects cant get up the tubing anyways... its just a what if procaution thing. I ran it with no mesh for 2 weeks and I didnt get anything in my box so.... ya know...
