what was your first car

i thought this would be a fun thread for everyone to reminisce about their first car

if you have a pic post it and tell a small story about it

mine was a 1995 geo metro. dad bought 2 of these for $150. not running started swapping parts and got one running. he drove this car from 2006-2007 then gave it to me when i turned 16. it had 195k on it when i got it. it was trashed the list of thing that were junk went on

radio
inside door handel
windows out of track
no trunk key
so much rust i had less car each time i parked it
no headliner
no ac rusted out condenser
bad starter had to hit it once a week
burnt a quart of oil a week
exhaust was broken in 7 places
exhaust was held in by chiken wire

but i loved that car lol.it was painfully slow couldnt get over 65 once with 2 people and a headwind got it to 90 once lol that was scary considering it started shaking at 76 lol, but it was always fun pulling up to camaros and mustang and dropping the clutch roasting the 155/55r13 tires with the little 3 cylinder once i had a guy stay at the light for 20 second just laughing. and with its size it was awesome for drifting in the winter and plowing down every snow drift i could find. i sold it for $375 the guy i sold it to put 17s on it causing the a frame to snap 2 months later lol

well here it is my 95 metro

Nice story!

My first car was a 1986 chevy chevette! My dad called it my "little shove it"! It was slow as snot, but god could it roast those rear tires.......and the timing was off so bad that if I put it in 4th gear and Floored it for a second it would backfire so loud people thought I was firing a gun! Made some guy who was riding my ass fly off the road, ducking for his life that way! Loved it!!! Miss that car! Sold it to a neighbor for $500, and he got it impounded.......WHILE STILL IN MY NAME!!! That wasn't a pretty situation! LoL!

1991 Pontiac Firebird with a 3.1 V6. Back in high school, a lot of people thought I had a V8 in it, but it was just the way I drove it made them think. Beat the motor and tranny pretty bad and held up until the thermostat didn't open. Overheated it and bent a rod and then later throw the rod.

first was a 85 escort 2dr 4spd. it was given to me by my mom who had it for years and it was all 80's neon pinked up. i had it for a year before i could get my license so got rid of that bs and cleaned up the engine and started in the field learning how to drive. after i got my license it was used for bumper cars alot and a troop carrier for water wars and other stupid stuff im surprised i never got into serious trouble.

I had a 1976 Chevy van. Or as my mom called it, that darn hotel on wheels. Had a full sized queen bed in back.

1975 Chevy Pickup. Wore C20 tags from the factory. Was ordered by a construction company... totally upsized suspension. When you worked on it, you better order C30 parts or you'd be going back. 9.5 x 16.5 wheels ... the typical sneakers took 70psi cold.

Had a 350 with a mild cam and a TH350 to back it up. No one beat that truck off the line.. gears were LOOOWWWWWW and it would piggyback any amount of weight you tossed at it.

1996 Grand Prix

I got my first job at McDonalds as a senior in high school and the next day I bought my car. I owned it for 7 years before I sold it. Here's a picture of it sailing off into the sunset:

1990 Mazda 323. I bought it for $4000 in 1993. The 1.6L engine produced an incredible 82 HP @ 5000 rpm. (You read that correctly.) This was possibly the worst engine in the world...was it made by lego???? Of course, at 5000 rpm the engine is howling like a banshee and definitely intimidates other drivers. Luckily I had the 5-Speed manual to get all that power to the ground.

I had bald tires and managed to hydroplane that beyotch at 60 mph, crashing into another car. I had frame damage, but just kept driving that POS anyway! Liability insurance sucks. The front end was kind of pointed down, but no problem! I just adjusted the headlights up a little and called it a day. 1 year later, I was stopped, waiting to turn left at an intersection when somebody barrelled into my rear end going 40+ mph. My poor 323 was launched forward and the trunk was crunched like a Coke can, wrapped around the rear tires. Sadly, I think that was the fastest that my poor car ever accelerated.

Imagine this sad-looking car crunched on both ends. I was actually more angry that my sub box was broken in the impact though. I got a tiny bit of insurance money that I used to buy the next car, a 1988 Nissan Pulsar NX SE, which was a much better car, for $3300 cash.
