We were buggin' each other while we sat out the light (DSL)
We both popped the clutch when the light turned green
You shoulda heard the whine from my screamin' machine
I flew past LaBrea, Schwab'*, and Crescent Heights
And all the Celica could see were my three taillights
Ok... so maybe a changed the lyrics a little
I took these photos the same day as my other post.....
Again..... standard 56k warning......
Minor warning to DSL & Cable........

At the BC we are unable to talk about "racing" stories.
But not to go into too much detail, we did do some "speed tests" that day, and the 97 is clearly faster. Craig (owner of the Celica) could not believe how much faster I was on the highway then him. "Amazing" I believe were his words.
But back on topic to the lovely cars....
Craig bought his Celica because it "looks fast" and "turns heads". I'm schooling him in the ways of proper car ownership. It'* too bad his car was born a rice car, and it'* in his blood. But I'm doing my best to curve that. I've told Craig, only put style mods on the car if they look "stock"... ie... if they look like they belong there. And nothing tasteless.
I don't believe he'* going to turn his ride into a really bad ricer, my hope is that he turns it into a nice clean import.
I'm teaching him the all around basics of "car ownership"....
-detailing
-always keeping a clean car
-regular oil/filter changes
-misc car work
But I've had to pay special focus on....
-no decals... esp if you don't have the product on your car
-engine displacement matters
-fart cans.... very bad
-etc
I don't have anyone else in my circle of friends who'* into cars..... so I guess I've gotta hang out with a ricer. I'll try to keep him clean..... no decals or fart cans... lol.

But I think the Bonneville does have a illegit child... have you see the Hyundai Tiburon. I'm pretty sure one of it'* designers worked on the Bonneville, or at least took some features from a Bonnie.... the headlights and taillights IMO look too much like a Bonnies.
