WCBM Day 2 Was Extreme!!
Even though it'* late and I really need to sleep cause we're getting up at 5:am to drive back to the Drag track tomorrow morning, I just have to tell you guys how much fun we are having.
What a bonus day
Got all 7 Bonnes running like a top this morning....after shaking tents to waken some of the younger guys......
Bill has already posted about the mods. We were under INTENSE pressure to complete them all before we have to leave for the 1 hour drive to the track. And what a drive that was
Seven Bonnes weaving in and out of 3 lanes of traffic doing...well let your imagination take hold
What a blast.
....and the race...errrr ride back after pumping up with all that adrenaline was almost as good. :P
Personal bests for all, even in the sweltering heat. 93 degrees with the tarmac I shot with the heat gun at 135 F.
Track prep was incredibly poor. They didn't use any adhesive, in fact a few times they had to try and mop up the coolant that had spilled from lesser cars than ours.
My highlight was a raced with Chadow that was soooooo close. He beat me running with slicks by .001 sec.
The best 60 foots we could get with slicks was 2.0 and I clicked off a 2.1 with my Bridgestones. What a massive burnout we had to do to get that.
The smell of burning rubber is still fresh in my nostrils.
Lots of pics that we will post later when we are back to normality.....one too many brown ones around the campfire tonight.
Big day tomorrow when we meet up with 24 Grand Prix cars for the big Woodburn Chevy showdown race, show'n shine and swap meet.
Got to leave at 7:am. :P
I really love racing with 110 Octane.
Much more later.........

You guys must be used to the heat so you'll have to excuse my hat...eh...it was darn hot.
My mudflaps did the trick keeping the rubber off my side. I had to peel about 1/4" thick layer of rubber debris off of them.
Looks like another hot one today.
Whooo....Hooooo.....
