just washed after doing some rim work
I just washed her down after work. Man I love the way it looks right now, too bad its not a SSEi. The car originally came with steel rims, picked up the crosslaces at a salvage yard. The rims where badly pitted and discolored so I used aircraft stripper to get the clearcoat off (what was left of it). hosed the rims off and dried them (sat in the sun all day 96F) That night I used Mothers billet polish and my cordless drill with a stripping wheel to polish and machine the outer edge of the rims. I cleaned up with carb cleaner and masked the outer part of the rims before paint. The inspiration for this work came from looking at LakevilleSSEi'* rims in the wheel tread. I LOVE the way his car looks. so I went with the gunmetal grey and prayed for luck. Presto! shallow dish GTA rims on a bonnie.

Here is a close up of the left rear rim. I was thinking of painting them black but it just wouldn't look right. I went with gunmetal because it is a spot on match to the interior color so it flows real nice. I also brought some of the exterior color to the inside.
More pics on the way.

Yea looks good, but my rims... the outer rims which you kept silver are all pitted and chipped, clearcoat is shot, so I did the whole rim silver, I dont think it would look good all charcoal.

You can polish up your outer rims with a piant stripping wheel and a cordless drill, took me about 10 minutes for each rim. Oh and you need paint stripper to remove clear coat and old paint. I would keep your rims the same color Angelo, your car looks perfect as it is. dark rims would not look good on your car IMO.
I will be redoing my rims later this year, I just did a half a$$ job because I was sick of my always dirty crosslaces. I did not clear coat my rims yet as I still have more polishing I would like to do and also not sure if I will stay with the gunmetal or not. I will include step by step with photos next time.

Actually have it up for sale, I think I may have found either a supercharged regal, or an SSEI, I just like the way your rims look with the "GTA" look. These wheela are a pain in the a$$.
