....so I finally broke down and got a newer, "normal" daily driver so I can finally sell off my fleet of rarities.
It was quite the frustrating experience between car salesmen lying about the condition of vehicles over the phone, the sad condition many of the lower mileage cars I test drove were in, and the ridiculous mileage people seem to put on their cars. The last car I looked at/expected to be decent turned out to be the nicest. The 3 month/3k mile powertrain warranty that was included certainly didn't hurt, either.
And so, even though it had way more miles than I wanted for a newer, replacement car, I ended up buying it.
I wasn't too confident in my decision at first, but the more I drive it, the more I love it. Though it'* bittersweet since I know this means it'* the end of the line for the other cars.
Anyhow, here she is....
2001 Grand Prix GTP Special Edition

Functional heat extracting hood vents (also found on the '00 Daytona Pace Car, and the '02 40th Anniversary)

The spoiler and tips are '00 Pace Car, '01 Special Edition & '02 40th Anniversary specific. The wheels only came on the Special Edition and 40th

The "NASCAR inspired" roof fences are again also only found on the '00 Pace Car, '01 Special Edition and '02 40th

The 2-tone interior is another touch on the '00 Pace Car, '01 Special Edition & '02 40th, except the Pace Car only had the light gray come half way down the seats, and the 40th had graphite with ruby red (headrests remaining graphite), with a ruby red gear shifter, and 2-tone steering wheel

The plastic ducts can be removed entirely, making the vents much more effective

Standard L67. Nothing fancy here.......yet.
Came with a redtop Optima battery, which is nice

So yeah....there you have it.

Great choice of cars. Not quite as rare as the others, but still a rarer one.
Always wanted one of these, but never could find one myself that fit the bill.
Do you happen to know the production numbers on these? I know the 00 pace car was only 2000 units, but am not sure of the numbers for this.
