Some Exhaust / Intake Videos

We were bored tonight so I convinced the fiance' to do some runs with both her trailblazer and my bonneville next to me in the other vehicle recording it.

Video sound quality isn't the best, but it gives a good idea of the sound. Also you can really tell the difference between a V6 and I6 in these videos. I actually love the sound of both. In person the Trailblazer is louder than the Bonne by a good bit which is hard to tell in the videos.

Turn up your volume and use some headphones if you don't have a good set of speakers!

Enjoy!

I want my Trailblazer to sound like that. I mean, she does sound aggressive and idles nicely. But both sound great. :thumbup2

That reminds me, I need to buy the same mufflers you have for my Bonne. Now I gotta dig through my PMs again.

Black Pearl 08-29-2010 06:52 PM

They are Thrush mufflers Mouse, Dynomax makes 'em

radomirthegreat 08-29-2010 07:23 PM

I really like that exhaust sound. Well done!

YoungGunLs1 08-29-2010 07:25 PM

Thanks guys!

Ya both have different sounds but both sound great to me.

I like the deepness of the Bonne, but I also like the 6000+ RPM scream of an inline 6 too.

Hehe, I know WHAT they are, but in the PM he sent me he provided the correct part #'s for which ones directly fit the car.

Here ya go little buddy...

2 1/4" offset inlet, 2 1/4" center outlet (reversible, but our mufflers on our cars are offset in, center out anyways)

Now our exhaust on the 2000+ Bonneville's is 2" I guess, and the stock mufflers have a 2" inlet and 2 1/4" outlet, which I did not know, I thought it both the inlet and outlet were 2 1/4" so I got the 2 1/4" thinking the whole exhaust was that size.

So if you decided to go with a 2" inlet/outlet muffler instead the part number for that is 17711

I was bored

They both sound good, I can tell the truck is louder.
But the bonnie sounds a bit more refined. I like how you recorded it from a chase car, thats a good Idea. Ill have to try that when I upload a vid of my intake sound, It sounds intense. lol

Some tips for when you do record it, in the car I was driving I drove about 25 mph so that wind noise wouldnt be bad in the microphone of the camera, then had the other vehicle pull up just behind my rear bumper and floor it so I could hear it from start, passing, and finish.

I would have rather been driving the car doing the flooring, but wasn't sure if the Fiance' could film it right lol..I have my vision of the way I want something done and if it isn't done right then they must be redone haha.

She was nice enough to do the driving and as many times as I wanted her to without thinking I was weird, so that was nice of her

Thats pretty cool that you can get her to romp on the cars. Most of the girls I know are just like "wont that hurt it?" lol

YoungGunLs1 I just wanted to throw you a comment on that engine cover, it looks crazy cool! Did you have someone do it, or was it a DIY, if so how did you do it? PM me, thanks.

YoungGun painted the cover himself. Here is a good pic of it..

I know he has a thread about it somewhere.

MouSe 09-30-2010 10:41 PM

Zombie thread kinda.

Just picked up my mufflers today, less than $50 with my Mil discount! Now I just gotta swing by the muffler shop and get them put on. Hopefully he's got some tips.
