Default Performance get together

A friend stopped over yesterday after having been badgered by me for a long time about getting the maintenance of the car up to speed. With that done, she was ready for the rocker install.

Items going on include: HS 1.9 Rockers, 105# springs, LS style retainers, MPS 3.4" pulley, wrinkle painted valve covers and supercharger

The setup, everything that could be prepped was.

Starting the install, the charger loses it'* frisbee pulley and gets an mps

Cylinder by cylinder springs and retainers were changed in preparation for the rockers. (No Pics) Then the rockers appear

About to move onto the back bank

From there the pics stopped and the work got serious. The back bank was finished, supercharger was drying/wrinkling etc. By the end of the evening all that was left was cleaning a TB (no TB cleaner in the hosue), vacuum lines and and reattaching some small things.

Should be fired up tonight

OK, I admit I inhaled a little at NEBF. But it was for medicinal purposes. Hope it all works out well and Rachel gets some pucker power out of Pickles.

Pickles is the car'* name. I forget how it came to be that Rachael named her car Pickles.

Got more done last night. I mentioned that there were things to fix before it left with rockers and a pulley. The ABS/TCS unit was swapped out yesterday, two more lights off the dashboard. Found a broken bleeder (was broken flush) that wouldn't come out. Swapped that wheel cylinder, bled all four corners of the nasty looking excuse for fluid that was in there.

Replaced another EGR tube (did I already mention it?) and found a bad TB gasket. That should account for the vacuum leak causing the lean bank code. thumbup2

You can go up to 1.9 ratio rockers if you use the proper springs, retainers, etc. Is there yet a guide on this on the forum?
