Default Old Feelings For a New Ride

I picked up this '94 off craigslist, the color the, interior, and even some of the promblems it has are just like my '92... I got it for $300 bucks, it has over 200,000 miles but the tranny was rebuilt at 150,000.
problems: a noise coming from the front left wheel, broken muilti function switch mount, cracked windsheild, no radio, busted door panel, cracked tail light, cracked fender, some rust, and a smell like vomit inside.... needs a good cleaning.

WOW, I'd hit that for $300. Drive the crap outta that thing. Not worth much more than some good fun to be had with it.

I'll take that one step further. I bet they don't EXIST anymore.

Take a fist and whack the floor on the underside, on and around the rear subframe mounts...and knock on the rocker panel all the length. Hear any hollow spots?

Not good. But like I said. Not worth much.

i got this for my sister to drive around town until she gets something better. it has 288,XXX miles on it and runs good and drives decent, and the sub frame is rusty but not bad. the brand new tires on it are worth the price i paid for the car

The mounts can be perfectly fine with that kind of rust. That'* dirt sitting in a wheel well type of rust.

Congrats..at first I thought you were trying to compete with Badnits SE.

The rear corners appear to have surface rust, but look solid, which is surprising with the quarter rust.

One thing I suggest, which is not for the faint of heart, is to remove the rear seat bottom (no tools required) and check for holes. On my red car I had similar quarter panel rust, and found a 4-6" hole under the passenger rear seat cause water had pooled up there. Not imperative since this sounds like just an in between car for her, but if you are on the fence about keeping it after, I suggest that atleast
