You're right. I'm with you Nytro. For your particular car I'd paint the calipers and drums gold too, to bring the gold 'theme' back into it now that the gold wheels are gone.

I painted mine red but I still have the ghetto wheels, and gold wouldn't have stood out. Red is nice with mine, but gold would be better for yours. Can't wait to see when it'* all done! Gold racing stripes would look SWWWEEEEEEEEET! I was thinking about getting some myself last June.

Are you getting new drums or are you cleaning the current ones and painting those? I got new ones so I wouldn't have to worry about that. Would have been a PITA.

I would like to paint the drums if theres enuff paint! How much were new drums? I have a pretty handy little dremel tool that would clean them up nice if the cost is too much. I havent pullled the wheel to have a good look but they look pretty nasty from what i can tell.

I tell ya what, in my wishlist is a ram Air hood and if i do get it, it WILL be painted black with gold racing stripes. i just wont get it until there is a fuctional CAI that will work with it, other wise i dont see the point.

I just got back from the track, i didnt run it tonight tho but i gots the feva!

My drums were so rusty I wasn't even going to try to clean and paint over them. I got the drums from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com and although the set was ~$150, shipping included, they would have been $130 MORE from the dealership, so that'* how I justified getting new ones. Plus the fact that they would not rust.

Your wheels would look sooooo sweeeeeeeet if you're calipers AND drums were gold.

And don't worry about the paint...If you have two cans anyway. I was able to paint two drums and two calipers with two 11oz cans of paint, and still had some left over. I used a lot of coats though just to be sure they would hold up. It'* rated to 900 degrees F! Keep me posted on your progress.

Check out my page at cardomain in the sig if you haven't seen my calipers and drums. The pics aren't the best, I'm getting a dig. camera soon.

I didnt get spray paint though. i got a kit that specifically says Caliper Laquer Kit. This one... http://store.yahoo.com/rodi/brakcallaqse.html

It says, sufficient for 4 calipers thas why i'm afraid there wont be enuff to do the drums right. :(

hmmmm, 150 huh? not too bad. I'll have to check em out today. I'm stoked to see what its gonna look like too!

the red behind your gold wheels looks great!

Yeah, I forgot you don't have spray cans. That paints on with a brush, right?? Four calipers probably doesn't equal 2 calipers and 2 drums, you're right. That sucks. Could you get more paint or would that be too much $$?

If anything else, the new drums are black, which would look alright, but gold would be so much better. :pimp: Maybe you can find a gold engine paint that matches?? Can't wait to see the results.

well, i did manage to find gold engine paint at PEP boys last night. ITs only rated 500degree, do you think that will work on the drums :?:
I really wanted to do it last night or today, but i wanna see how far i can make the kit go so the color will match. I just hate waiting! The drums will definitley be gold one way or another. :?

Theres a Pontiac car show today that i was going to register in but i decided not to cause i couldnt get the calipers and drums painted in time Its kinda lol
Instead of doing the drums last night i got the mothers gold clay and clayed and waxed the entire car from head to toe. OMG it works soooo gooood!! Im gonna update cardomain today with new pics...

If it stops raining here I'm to check out the car show.
