new rims/tire advice please.
I just got some 17" rims (10 spoke) from a Chrysler Sebring LXi. My friend is selling his car and he didn't have tires on 2 of the rims so he sold them to me for $125. I'm going to paint them gold (of course) and put them on in the spring-if it ever gets here. They'll look great on my car. I'll have 'em on just for the summer if they turn out good.
Anyone have any suggestions on tires. 2 of them have Goodyear Eagle RSA, but I want all tires to be new. I don't have a huge budget but would like some decent performance tires. Thanks for any advice. I'll post pics whenever I paint the rims, and maybe some before and after shots. I'll keep you posted.
Oh yeah, the current tires on the Chrysler rims are 215/50R17. If I got these would they be good on my bonneville or should I go with another size. I don't want tires that won't provide the right performance/handling. Thanks.

Go back to 225 at least. Stock width. You'll need the traction sooner or later. My budget was a big factor in my tire purchase as well. I found a great tire. Directional tread, great handling, and a fantastic price. Under 600 for all 4. In my sig. There'* a pic of them in the last brakes thread (the pic with my new red calipers and the beer bottles).
