I have pretty much the same set up on my car, except I have an 80 series with the rest of the exhaust stock and I love it. I have pilot tips also....but mine look like resonator tips, they look like they have some type of baffling to the tip.....I'll try to get a close up pick of the tips tommorow evening when I get home from work. Here'* a pick of how mine look:

Actually the 40 series is louder then the 80.

I think the torque loss has been something that'* been brought up but no one ever said they had it.

OK with all those style mufflers in a dual exhaust setup, do the two pipes have to come out of the same side or can it be 1 pipe from each side of the muffler? Like instead of having one curve all the way to the other side couldnt it just come out of the other side. Thing is I am getting this Full Boar muffler which is said to be reversable so I was hoping it wouldnt have to look like what your pics show, no offense.

yes...you can get a muffler with the inlet and an exit on one side and another exit on the other side..so there isn't any twisting...but i worked with what i had. I was looking at the specs for my muffler at Flowmaster'* web site and there is an option for what you want in almost all their series...i'm sure you can get any muffler like that.

No offense taken...i'd actually like to have 2 small straight shot mufflers ...one on each side myself...might do it one day.
