New Exhaust Videos 02 SLE (Before / After)
Hey everyone,
It'* been a while since I have been posting on here, life in general has been busy and things have picked up with my business lately so I unfortunately haven't had much time for my car.
I wasn't planning to do much more to the car, if anything, but a few weeks ago the mod bug bit me, which I didn't think would happen with this car, but now I will try to be more active on here once again haha.
It all happened after I blacked out / tinted the rear tail light section of the car (new photoshoot soon to come) when I decided to offer this as another service for my business, so I needed to experiment with darkness, coats, paint mixtures etc.. and since my rear section was looking bad due to the black on the inside peeling/fading etc.. what better car to experiment on.
Well I wasn't sure how I would like it but after it was done I LOVED the way it looked and that'* when it began.. the desire to do MORE lol.
So I decided to start with the exhaust. I wanted different tips for starters, but then thought if I am doing that I might as well go ahead and put new mufflers on too...and then an intake, and tune etc.... (see there is that mod bug)
I did my research and narrowed it down to the mufflers I wanted. I eventually decided on Dynomax Super Turbo'*. I had Dynomax Ultra Flo'* on my 99 Monte Carlo Z34 with the 3800 which gave a nice sound but with this car I wanted to try the Turbo'* being this car is more of a luxury car rather than sporty car and I didn't want it raspy, or too loud, but wanted it to make a noticeable change while still having a refined sound that didn't seem awkward when others heard the car. After further research I found that the Thrush Turbo mufflers are essentially the exact same as the Dynomax and were much cheaper (in fact the cheapest mufflers out there damn near) so I went with those instead.
For tips I wanted Dual stainless for both sides and ended up getting a New set of 04-08 Grand Prix GM Accessory tips off of ebay for a great price. They are 2 1/4" inlet and dual 3" outlet. I Was going to go with another type that were dual 3 1/2" outlet and a bit more muscular looking, but again they were more money so for now these would do.
All said and done I am very happy with the results. It has a nice deep tone to it that you can hear while driving, and does not have ANY rasp what so ever (less rasp compared to stock even)...see videos. It isn’t too loud either, but is much deeper than stock which is what I wanted. It is still no V8 however, but it sounds good for what it is.
The exhaust also looks much better now and ALL I have left to do is, oh I don’t know, intake, tune, re-tint the windows, GXP wheels, Halo Fog lights....
Note: *Wear Headphones or have good speakers for accurate sound.. my laptop computer speakers don't sound right at all*

I've been hesitant to do any further exhaust work because of the sound. I like the way yours sounds and may be using the same mufflers. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for all the great comments guys.
Sometimes It is hard to decide what to do to your own car when you don't always have something to base it off, however I am glad that sharing what I have done can help others to decide on exhaust for their cars as well, and glad for my experimental sake it turned out good lol
