As promised, a few (slightly) better photos of my new heap:

The car'* good side.

A better look at the cracked fender and bumper.

Rear aspect.

All of the rust on the car is on and around the trunk/trunklid.

Wheels made by...ABS. Is that German?

Cheesy 80s video game compass.

DOOR AJAR

A filthy 3800 engine cover. Underneath is similar.

After a day with the car, issues have surfaced (of course)

-Left axle is making that 'k-kik-k-kik' sound when turning that an axle just starting to fail makes.
-Front brake rotors are in the shapes of potato chips, and I suspect the right front caliper could use replacing, but we'll see when I put my new rotors on.
-Good old 3800 series II plastic intake manifold has a slight seep...nothing serious yet.
-PS pump leaks pretty good
-idle is a little shaky on occasion. The plugs and wires are new, but the coils are original and have 147k miles on them. Probably time for a change.

Basically, all stuff that can be fixed in a couple of weekends for not a lot of money by yours truly. I'm definitely enjoying my new beater.

That stuff on the spoiler was just condensation.

As for me, I'm just a college student who likes cars (and working on them) who lives in the suburbs between Milwaukee and Racine.

I would give 500 for it. I actually thought you got a great deal until I saw the rust and cracked fender. Still, its worth it. its about 4 notches above the LE I drive, and put 4k miles per month on. tough cars.

take care of those maintenance items you listed, POR15 over the rust in the trunk, throw on a new fender and corner lense and you got a COTM... well maybe not.. but at least a very nice bonne, i wouldnt even call it a beater, easily worth 500...

I'm planning on just RTV-ing my corner lense assembly back in, changing the manifold gaskets, and giving it the basic 'just-bought-it' tuneup for a start. I already bought new front rotors today.

A few questions:
-Where is the service parts/RPO decal on these cars?
-Alternatively, which gear ratios go to which engine?
-What is the preferred spark plug? I usually like to use NGK copper V-powers in everything, but I was thinking of getting those AC Delco Iridiums. I don't want to have to change the plugs more than once evar.

As far as rust goes, my car might as well be rust free for a WI machine :\ Stupid road salt. My last beater was so rusted it was probably dangerous :(

RPO label is on a sticker on the spare tire cover. Gear ratio I am unsure of on your tranny, but an RPO code would specify what you have exactly. NGKs are very popular, but to get those answers start a thread in General Chat.

LMAO!

Great looking interior, man. Make SURE you get that UIM changed; they go bad around this time and could lock up your engine for good

Yeah, I'm going to try to find that Dorman kit tommorrow, and hopefully attack it this weekend.
