Default My Hill 1, Bonneville 0

After putting my new Blizzaks on, for the first time in 4 years I couldn't make it up and out of my property. (BTW Blizzaks SUCK) I got about 3/4'* of the way up my hill and forward progress not only ended, I starting going downhill and gaining speed. Ended up in a ditch to the left shattering the drivers side rocker moulding. As soon as it came to a stop, with the brakes on, she slide 180+ degrees to the right and slammed the passenger front into the dirt bank and a tree. Shattered the bumper cover, bent the support, windshield cracked where the antenna bolt and nut attach, and took out the passenger headlight.

Took it in for the estimate and it came to $3400. I took that and the car to Dreamakers Kustoms where the the custom paint job was done. It turned out to be a good thing. The Blood Red Candy on top of the marbleizing had bleached considerably over 3 years. They are going to repair the collision damage, sand off the clear coats with pearlflake, marbleize the new bumper cover and rocking moulding, remarbleize the hood, drivers fender and door (stone chips from flying on the highway close to the barrier?) And redo the entire car with a new translucent Blood Candy (thats has a better reputation for holding up to sunlight) and Clear Candy'* on top with the Red Ice pearlflake. Going to once again have a brand new finish.

Here'* it'* new home for the next couple weeks

Couple of shots of the damage.

New Bumper cover from GM.

Hopefully 3 weeks. I went in yesterday but forgot the cam. They have all the body cladding/mouldings/bumper covers/headlights and spoiler off. Clear coats are gone down to the marbleizing, and the hood, fender and drivers door back down to the OEM Paint. Front bumper cover is primed and painted OEM for a base point. The marbelizing/Red Candy/Clear Candy with pearlflake steps each require drying/curing/wet sanding and buffing out. The shop is always hopping and it could be a month.

Having seen the old paint in person, I'm really looking forward to seeing the new. The accident sure could have been much worse and the whole thing sucks, but I see nothing but good coming out of this one!

Ya, I'm missing the car, but it was definitely a good thing. I had been waching the paint fade and trying to stomach the price of new. The insurance check made it alot easier to digest.

Nate the owner of Dreamakers sayz," Duct Tape is Not Customizing!".....

My bumper damage was nothing compared to that. I fixed mine up myself.

Black duct tape acceptable when customizing, Silver is not.

FYI

LOL! The silver was handy when I figured the cover wouldn't stay together for the 30 minute ride into town. They thought it was a joke till they saw the broken headlight lens and the estimate in my hand.
