and yes it does...im still looking for a new module, but as of right now, both airbags are unplugged so they wont be going off intermediately

I had a 1990 Cougar with a digital dash and I did the same as you. I removed all the red and yellow and had it just green and electric blue.
I went and got these notebooks that were clear colored plastic with 'ridges' that gave it some texture.
I cut out the sizes I needed and applied it with silicon. It worked GREAT!!
