My beautifull new 95!

While it may look nice, that plastic intake pipe is about the worst material you can choose for an intake. Do a search on 'rice pipe' to find more info.
In addition, you really need to shield that filter from the engine heat. You'd be better off going back to a gutted stock airbox otherwise.

I have a similar set up on my engine. my air filter is fully enclosed in an aluminum heat shield lined with Reflect-A-Sleeve 1100. with a 3 inch duct bringing cold air to the filter from the front of the car. I might be one of a small bunch that have this setup. Its cheap, I made it and it works

The FWI from Intense is great but for a L36 seems like you will spend a lot to get very little in return. its better suited for supercharged engines.

roadtech195: I love your engine compartment. nice job! Did you buy that stut brace chromed like that, or get it plated or something? And thanks for the info on my model.
Willwren: I appreciate your input on my intake. I did do a search on rice pipe and found a variety of opinions, so I decided to find out for myself. Most concerns surrounding plastic pipes come from ABS, where my pipe is made from chrome plated co-polymer, which, according to the manufacturer, does not absorb heat, or off-gas. I can't really say alot regarding the manufacturers claims, but I can tell you that there is a very noticable performance gain with this setup. My car has a whole new attitude and a deep throaty growl to match. I do plan on doing a heat sheild in the near future. I am tossing the idea around about using pink styrofom insulation wrapped in metal foil tape, surrounded by the reflective bubble wrap insulation. Do you think that there is too much heat surrounding my exhaust to use this material?
bonn-e-bill: The mesh is a solid metal grill that is made specifically for this application. Costs about $30 for a piece about 9"x48". Took me 2 packs, with lots left over.
