My 2000 SSEi and one of our 2009 Oshkosh Striker'*
Stopped by one of my stations yesterday and could not resist grabbing an iPhone shot of my 2000 SSEi up against a Crash Rescue Vehicle (CRV). You know a little about my car, but nothing about the crash truck.
The CRV is a 2009 OshKosh Striker 3000. It carries 3000 gallon of water, 420 gallons of foam and 500 pounds of Halotron (extinguishing agent). The truck is 39'6" long, 11'6" wide, 11'9" tall and has a 19'6" wheelbase. It weighs in at 81,700 lbs and is capable of reaching a top speed of 70mph. It has a turning radius of 107', can climb a 50% grade and side slope 30 degree angle. It'* powered by a Catepillar C-16 In line 6 Diesel that delivers 680 BHP at 2100 rpms. It has a max torque of 1,950 ft. lbs at 1400 rpms. Power is delivered to the wheels via an Allison 4800 EVS, 7 spd transmission.
It has a roof turret capable of delivering 1400 gpm, a bumper turret capable of delivering 750 gpm and four under truck nozzels that deliver 12 gpm each.
The CRV is capable of off road traversing and can interlock into a 6X6 configuration.
The cab is configured for a crew of three. The vehicle is equipped with a Forward Looking Infra Red system, quartz halogen lights, air conditioning and AM/FM/CD.
Cost...... $325,000.00...give or take a thousand or two!

Pretty Awesome Truck Kevin!!
I see those drive around town where I live in primer all the time. Probably test driving them before they are painted or fitted with the safety equipment.
Thanks for sharing! Oh...your cars looking great to
