Custom Enclosure in the Trunk...tell me what you think!
Allright, here is my first major mod in my opinion. This was the first thing not store bought for my car. I worked hard on this along with my neighbor. I made two boxes, or what I call a custom "split enclosure." Each box is custom made for my 8" subs. The box was made from scratch, with 5/8'* fiberboard. I then siliconed the seams after they were built. Below is pictures taken from the start to the almost complete state. I still have to hide the wiring, mount the amp, and carpet the boxes. The carpet is most likely going on tomorrow.
Here is the first step of the box, which was when I cut the faceplate. We had the plans drawn up already.
This, is when we started setting the box up with good ole' Ductape. gotta love that stuff.
Here is where we got the first box together and screwed in. (we had to make 2)
This is with the subs screwed in, and test fitting them to the trunk.
You can see the old box on the left bottom of this pic below.
This is after sealing them with silicone. I re-placed the subs in the box, and temp. wired the amp up. The subs are putting out 2x more bass than before. The old box was way to big and had huge ports. These beast are sealed .
Well, this is my custom made, split enclosure for my 8" subs. More pics to come when the carpet is on and the amp and wires are hidden/installed. Tell me what you think. I think I may be the first person to set up split enclosure with the slant, that backs up to the rear seat in a bonneville. I got tired of my some-what square/rectangle/trapazoid box being in the way of the pass-through door. I havent seen any others that i can think of. Leave your thoughts!

might I suggest a trunk platform like this:
The reason I say this is because it makes securing boxes really easy and you dont have to worry about them getting in the way if you ever need to take the spare out.
