Excellent turn out

I'd be happy if we get half that many at our Meet.

So do you have any good advice for improvement ideas. Like, what went well, what didn't go well and what you would do different next time.
I'm referring mostly to managing such a large number of vehicles.

I guess you just owned everything.

One thing that worked out was the fact that Bill has huge property behind his place. He was also pretty strict about keeping only cars that were being worked on in the front of his place. It really cut down on clutter, and frazzled nerves.

From what I witnessed, most things went along rather smoothly regarding the cars... staggering our arrival times did help somewhat as well (some were modding as early as Wednesday while others didn't arrive until Friday/Sat).

And everyone was pretty cool about things...the important/necessary mods took priority while some things were left to be done at a later date or to be done on their own.

People were prepared too...extra jack stands and tools were brought so that we weren't having to wait for each other. I don't know if it helped or not.... but we had a dedicated thread to discuss the mods we hoped to do...bascially giving everyone an idea of what to expect and what to bring for tools.

We didn't try to schedule mods, rather just flowed with things as the weekend progressed.

Knowing we had so many coming, like Morty said...I looked over at him on Tuesday night and said..."lets get your stuff done", Wednesday night "If I knew my bumper cover was coming tonight..I'd be in the garage taking the old one off"

Do what you can ahead of time. Don't save any mods for a meet unless you need help. As Bill W says, plan for something that will take under an hour. It always takes longer. Get garage ****** like Vig out as quick as possible (j/k Brady).

The biggest problem we had was weather. It'* the second time in a row and I was bummed about it. Spur of the moment mods happen... and it'* good.

In reality though...the next NEBF will follow the suit of WCBF a little closer. There will be no modding on the day we have track or photo'* scheduled. It was tough to get people to stop working and leave for photos. (Tough to leave when the trans pan is on the floor 3 feet from the car). Unfortunately that dampens the one day hit and run people.

We actually had SSEB4EVA show up on Thursday (I didn't realize which day he was coming...and we weren't there), Markwb has a work schedule and was able to arrive Sunday... in reality we could have had 24 in a row if you also add in AJ'* car.

Best thing you can do is have one person to track the participants (Tracy was our person), swap phone numbers, that way whether you are part of a group or not...the person had Tracy'* number, my cell and my home. If something happened they were covered...and if we needed to reach them..we were covered.

Food...in the past..we've tried to plan food and ended up with too much, too little etc. We had a bring or donate policy this time that worked out well.

Activities...yes..we'll do more as a group here in NE, we did successfully leave and make it as a group over 1/4 mile (first NEBF photo parking lot) It is possible.

Buy two way radios. These days these babies are super cheap. It'* been mentioned a couple times how great it is to have them when driving in groups. Fun too... (Pat the mothership is circling!) (And bring an extra for Handdrum)

Fire...dig a hole in the yard...you'll never regret it.

Neighbors...Good neighbors are a must. We ate, we drank..we were loud all night and day. My neighbor came over to ask if we needed anything after providing a huge tent etc. Who doesn't think Sunny and family are super cool?

Plan ahead....invite the world...meets mushroom when other members see the fun they missed. Right NOW every single person that'* w/in a 4-8 hour drive of the Central meet should be requesting time off and calling the KOA for a campsite. (See Meets section or PM CorvetteCrazy for details)

Get yourself a Randman...he'* the funniest guy I know sober or with a few hundred BL'* in him. No, you can't have ours...he'* ours...and we are keeping him here. I'm happy to live so close to him...I'm always laughing my butt off when he'* around. (Show me the Hurricane!!!!!)

..and if anyone saw the air gun...I'm looking for it...

Thanks for the wise advice.
I think I will link this post to our WCBM05 Post to pass on the wisdom.

I have to agree with Bill about Randy.
