Default MORE WCBF PICS (7/14) You won't believe the story.....

So Pfamily went to Wildlife Safari yesterday. Had a great time. Came back by way of the coast and Coos Bay.

We met up to do some last minute meet stuff and eat pizza. While we were sitting there stuffing envelopes, we noticed a black bonneville pull up to the KOA office. Not sure if it was one of ours, I grabbed a car, and Dad, the Pkids, and I all walked down to meet.

Met Sandy in the office. Introductions were made, the card was handed over, and she promptly said "Thank GOD!" Seems she'd been having stumbling problems in overdrive, and her mechanic had tried and failed to fix it several times. I told her that between us, Pdad and I knew as much about Bonnevilles as Pontiac did And that we had diagnostic tools with us. I invited her down to the campsite after she got settled in.

Pdad went to work with his Digimoto, and between us we diagnosed the problem for her (was throwing no codes). Car was pulling timing when I revved the throttle for Pdad. PROBABLY eroded plug gaps, as no misses were logged, but nothing serious. Almost certainly ignition related.

She couldn't believe her luck falling into our laps. She had just gotten tired on a long roadtrip and decided to stop in the one place on the West Coast that was perfect. She may come back for the WCBF covered bridge tour. She has a BEAUTIFUL car. She was very interested in the club (already a member of other internet forums) and promised to join when she gets back home.

Anyway, here'* the pics, yesterday'* start on page 2 near the bottom, and go on to page 3 (including pics of our newest future member and her car):

One more day, and she would have had an Admin, 2 gearheads and a couple other members.

What are the odds?

From this:

To this:

In less than an hour and I forget how many beers. He'* been drinking my Widmer, I've been drinking LaBatt'*. That'* called cultural exchange.

Gas: $2 a gallon
Junk food: $15 dollars
Campsite: $20

Having your car break down at the ONE place on the West Coast where there'* a couple drunk Bonneville Nuts?

Priceless.

A little more about her:

Her earliest car memories are her parent'* old '56 Star Chief. For those that know their Bonneville History, this is the predecessor to the '57 Bonneville. Her family has been in Pontiacs FOREVER. And yes, she loves the car!

I believe she said she had pics of the '56.

Our other campsite neighbor that joined us for the evening from Washington (on his way to Southern CA and Joshua Tree National Monument) used to have a '66 Bonneville.
