Bunch awesome people in MN. Even the one in the red girlie-VW-car.
Cary was pretty impressed with the age diversity. From Slug and Travis to "I drink coke because I'm not cool enough to drink beer with you" Andrew.
Seriously, Cary had a good time and was a good sport about hanging with us. He knew it was pretty important for me to meet up with you guys. A rare opportunity. Mostly important to me because all I've had to base your character on is Travis for the past two WCBF'*, and frankly, it was hurting your reputations.
You're all good now. And Travis looks worse in comparison.

This truly is a very special Club.
The age disparity and how well we all communicate sharing a common passion is amazing.
Kudos to you Bill for being one of the major reasons for this.
You are much taller on the computer.

Ok, slug finally made it back to Michigan last night. Seas on the ferry over were 6-8 feet and fun, but real calm coming back.
Sorry, WJCollier, I didn't know you were on the way or I probably could have picked you up ( but could not have gone back right away).
The trip to Hooter'* was worth it in itself, but I did visit relatives the next few days -- my brother "snail" (named by willwren) in Burnsville, ironically, walking distance from Hooter'* (we invited him over, and he did show up, but not until a few minutes after Bill'* many demonstrations of "rerounding" everybodies front tires in the parking lot, but we were all gone) and my mother in Battle Lake, Minnesota. I was actually born and raised in North Minneapolis, schooled in St. Paul, and worked for a while in Chaska, and lived near Excelsior for a while.
Thanks all you guys for making the "old fart" feel welcome. Well, almost all you guys:
(you know, that wasn't a very nice thing for the commander-in-chief to say, but then willwren has never claimed to be "nice" [or pleasant, warm, likeable, calm, reassuring, or supportive in any way], in fact I keep trying searches with the words "willwren" and all those other words and more, and have yet to get a single hit). (oops, almost forgot -- )
You're really an interesting and fun bunch. A lot of you are about the same age as my daughter or younger. None of her many boyfriends ever had the slightest interest in the technicals or wrenching of old cars or motorcycles. I thought those days were over. Was I ever wrong! And "Golden Bullet", it was great to meet you -- your trip must have been just about as hard as mine!
(Bill, I hope you got your bag of "yellow pages" at Americinn and that the clerk didn't just drink it all himself)
Well, I'm probably about to get kicked off this thread for being so gabby, but the oldest guy and the one who came the furthest has rights, I figure.
If I'm not kicked off, or this thread isn't terminated by tomorrow morning, I will edit in a couple of "snail" jokes to tell in honor of my honorary BC member brother "snail". I did hear them on the ferry, so they're part of "my ride", and one of them is actually a snail/Bonneville joke.
So look for them tomorrow. (but if I get kicked off [again], I will understand [I will never forget, but I will understand ])
(MOS, I missed meeting you. We played football games on Victory Memorial Drive [the MPLS-Robinsdale border] a zillion times, my aunt and uncle lived on York, and my grandma and grandpa lived on Abbott. We practically lived at the park by the lake, and at the Dairy Queen on Broadway).

Man are you guys driving lightweights. My usual week is around 50hrs of driving on about 20 hours of sleep. Until you can drive 11 hours straight without a bathroom break, you don't get to brag about the commute....
Anyway, wish I could have been there. I tried like hell to get a load out that way, but we ain't gettin CRAP any further west than Chicago lately...
