the 4L60E should handle plenty, you can upgrade the "prone to breakage" parts with a kit (GM i think still sells it) and make it a 4L65E...... then there is always the 4L80E, and the kit to make it a 4L85E.

My daily driver is a 1999 Holden Calais, the big project is a 1967 Hr Holden Special, originally came with a single carb 186ci Column shift manual.

Yeah we have the 4L60e in most of our older Commodore range (Calais is part of that range), our HSV (performance division) upgraded to the 4L65e on some later models. I am going to get the 4L60e fully built by a guy here that has had good success but I am trying to get some fairly big numbers with the HR so I am not sure if it will handle it.

you could put in a turbo 400 with some gear vendors gear spliter. It'll esentially make it a 6speed. Or you could slap a manual behind it.

Good stuff right there. Kinda weird seeing the steering wheel on the right side

Haha, I think it's a bit strange seeing your engine facing the wrong way

Have any videos of the Calais? I wanna see what a RWD L67 can do.

Believe me when I say that there are many that would love to have the engine facing north-south on ours. Then there's the little detail of not having a drive train tunnel through/under the cabin. :D

I don't have any videos yet, hopefully my new setup will be running soon and I can get some soon.

So THATS what the Cadillac Catera came from...........

The HELL, with the 4Lxx, just go straight to the 6L80...

I love that car. Striking is the best word for it, I think. Beautiful lines.

BTW, does that intercooler fit the FWD format?
